Foxhole AFC 4 v 2 Mevagissey
Saturday 16th July 2011
(2nd Team Friendly) |
 |
|
At two nil down at half time through a pen by Chris Dingle after Chris Julian handball inside the box and Mevas 2nd goal came by Richard James receiving a though ball splitting Fox's defence. At times though the 1st half, Fox's played some good passing football but was not consistent.
Half time Fox’s went in and regrouped, via change of Formation and subs made Ryan Hale, Rob Gilts and Josh Harvey off and Tommy Hicks, Sam Mitchell and Sam Leaney on. All three players that came off all had really good 1st half’s, changes made to give all players a crack at what they can bring to the team.
Fox’s dominated the whole of the 2nd half, Sam Leaney scoring 1st with a goal made by HARD WORK ! Fox’s piled on the pressure to Meva’s defence with excellent link up play between Tommy (ave still got) Hicks and Sam (sleazy) Leaney. Fox’s 2nd from Sam Leaney shook Meva’s defence and within another 10mins Hicks scored his 1st for the club after neatly lobbing from range.
Changes were made to bring Rob Gilts back on, along with Ryan Hale and then Charlie Jones, off were Tommy Hicks, Tom Grylls and Sam Leaney. With 5mins to go Fox’s were awarded a pen when Rich Ralph was brought down in the box for Chris (captain fantastic) Julian to slot the ball home to bring the final score to 4-2 to foxhole.
It was great to see a true team spirit, in the team to comeback from 2nil down and player’s attitudes to the team and club was fantastic to see. With one game in of pre season, it’s fair to see let’s not get carried away. Keep working hard in training and see what we can archive.
Man of the match today was a team choice and I agree 100%. Rich Ralph, to comeback to play after a few years away from football and in that time to have major knee surgery and then to comeback today and play so well, just shows how much heart this young lad has. Excellent organiser of players and top performance.
I would also like to mention Tommy Hicks, as this lad played for me at youth level and was a great player then and by lord, this lad has still got it, his thinking and passing is shear class.
Jamie Killen 2nd half role in midfield showed the whole team that he really is becoming a top young player.
And lastly Ryan Hale playing his 1st men’s game today, Ryan has good feet and super attitude towards football and today we saw that this young lad will become something special in the next few years. |
