A fierce cross wind ensured this was not a game that will live long in the memory, but depleted Foxhole will nevertheless feel that their gutsy performance warranted a point as they successfully nullified any home threat until Danny Ford raced on to Bryan Hawke's fine pass to fire into the corner with only 19 minutes remaining. The same pairing had combined to create one of precious few opportunities early on, but on that occasion Ford's lunge had narrowly failed to connect to an inviting centre from Hawke, who was soon to be thwarted by Allen's fine recovering challenge. Unfortunately the young full-back fell awkwardly onto his shoulder and was taken to hospital to add to the Foxes' selection problems, but the resulting reshuffle, which saw Matt May retreat from an unfamiliar striking role, did not affect the visitors' defiance, with only the intelligent midfield prompting of Kayne Trevaskis causing serious concern. Foxhole were not exactly bombarding Andy Butcher either, but Allen's replacement James perhaps ought to have done better moments before the break from a curling cross by the strong-running Rescorl, who had just been harshly cautioned for a foul on Hawke.
 
The dearth of goalmouth excitement continued until the home winner, although Holland had to be alert to deny Dyer, while Rescorl extended Butcher after drifting past Barclay. However, Ford's decisive strike signalled a period of Perranporth possession that guaranteed the points, and the forward may have doubled his account with greater composure eight minutes from time. To their credit, Foxhole's makeshift line-up searched valiantly for a late equaliser which was never really on the cards save for Cutlan's effort from Ralph's assist that flashed the wrong side of the upright.
